Background
In its early years in the year 2021, Footprints of Glory Foundation, then known as the Hope of Glory Foundation, embarked on a mission to uplift communities through education which is one of their community improvement programs. This non-profit organization initiated its first community improvement project in the educational sector of Tsito Circuit, a vibrant enclave within the Awudome Traditional area. Since its inception, the foundation has left an indelible mark on the lives of numerous individuals and communities.

The foundation’s maiden community initiative took the form of quiz competitions, targeting Upper Primary and Junior High Schools in the Tsito circuit. Tsito circuit comprised of all public and private schools in the Tsito, Borkorvikofe and Dededo communities. The quiz competitions aimed to foster intellectual growth, encourage academic excellence, and promote healthy competition among students. The year 2021 witnessed the launch of these exciting events, which yielded remarkable and intriguing results.
Students from various schools in the Tsito circuit (including public and private school) enthusiastically participated in the quiz competitions at the Upper primary and Junior High School levels. The atmosphere was filled with palpable excitement and an air of anticipation as the young minds showcased their knowledge and skills. Schools were grouped and competed at the Quarterfinal, Semifinal and Final levels. The quizzes covered a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, science, history, and literature, providing a comprehensive platform for the students to demonstrate their academic prowess.
The competition brought out the best in the students, revealing their remarkable abilities and inspiring their peers. The participants exhibited impressive problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a thirst for knowledge that was truly awe-inspiring. The foundation’s commitment to empowering these young minds was evident throughout the event.
The quiz competitions organized by the Footprints of Glory Foundation served as a catalyst for educational development in Tsito and its surrounding communities. Not only did they create a platform for students to showcase their talents, but they also ignited a sense of camaraderie and unity among schools. Students from different backgrounds came together, forming lasting bonds and friendships that transcended their academic achievements.
Intra School Quiz Competition
Footprints of Glory Foundation introduced an Intra-School Quiz Competition within all public and private schools in the Tsito Circuit. This took various forms as the school based committee decided the most beneficial strategies for each school. There were competitions among classes, sessions, streams, etc. The initiative aimed to inspire students and promote academic excellence within each school while helping to identify worthy candidates to represent each school during the Inter schools contests.

The competitions created an environment where knowledge was celebrated, challenging students in various subjects. The events fostered healthy competition, pushing participants to strive for excellence while respecting their peers. The impact was far-reaching, as students developed a love for learning and the community came together in support.

Academic performance improved, and the initiative served as a model for other communities. Footprints of Glory Foundation provided bottled drinking water and drinks for all teachers in each school and the contestants every contest day.

Footprints of Glory Foundation’s vision of inspiring young minds and promoting academic excellence became a reality, leaving a lasting legacy of educational empowerment and community engagement.
